Weily Psych Services

Practical, not jargony.

Sam works collaboratively with each person, adolescents and adults, using a variety of therapeutic approaches that complement what that person needs.

Psychological Counselling

A space to untangle things

A confidential space to target and address a wide range of difficulties from anxiety, depression, trauma, decision-making, stress tolerance to work–life balance. Duration is tailored to your needs and goals; Sam works collaboratively toward the outcomes you want.

Skills-Based Learning

Build the skill, beat the obstacle

A method of developing the specific skills needed to overcome obstacles such as social skills, relationships, frustration tolerance, assertiveness, communication and performance. By consistently identifying and applying new behaviours or ways of thinking, people develop and improve their lives. Evidence-based, and built around your goals.

Ericksonian Hypnosis

Tap your own inner resources

A powerful technique that taps into a person's inner resources to shape behaviours, thoughts and emotions. Sam combines hypnosis with counselling to help foster motivation, address phobias and anxieties, and gain control over new changes like sleep, smoking, decision-making or exercise.

How, not why · here & now

A focused, goal-oriented approach

Sam is trained in cognitive behaviour therapy, solution-focused and strategic therapy. The work stays present-focused and goal-oriented, pragmatic and built to help you overcome barriers in a skills-based, focused way.

Psych on a Bike

Counselling that rolls beside you

A custom, mobile counselling service for First Nations young people operating in a side-by-side approach, usually bike riding, offering space to yarn about connections and challenges.

Culturally-competent and trauma-informed, it works to strengthen cultural, familial and spiritual connections, respond to the impact of colonisation and racism, build coping mechanisms, improve self-esteem and foster resilience. Sam engages with cultural consultation, family and community collaboration.

Good to know

Common questions.

A few things people often ask before getting in touch.

Do I need a referral?

No — you don’t need a referral to book with me. If you’d like to claim Medicare rebates you’ll need a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, but you’re welcome to start without one. Either way, the first step is a free check-in chat.

Can I get a Medicare rebate?

Yes. With a GP Mental Health Care Plan you can claim a rebate on up to 10 sessions per calendar year. Some private health funds also offer cover — worth checking with yours.

What does it cost?

Individual sessions — in person or via telehealth — are $300. The full fee board is just above.

Where are you, and is there parking?

181 Centre Road, Bentleigh — a ground-floor storefront. Free 2-hour parking on Centre Road and Wilson Street. Sessions run Monday to Thursday, 10am–4pm.

How do I get started?
